Welcome to the Displaced Los Angeles Archival Collection
This collection houses official documents related to the three original Mexican and Indigenous communities of Palo Verde, La Loma, and Bishop—neighborhoods that have been wrongfully referred to in modern times as Chavez Ravine.
Our archive includes records from city, county, municipal, state, federal, and corporate sources, as well as privately held documents. These materials collectively tell the story of displacement, resistance, and survival of the residents of these historic communities.
We make this collection available to the general public, as well as to students and researchers seeking to better understand the history of these neighborhoods and the injustices they endured.
If you have any historical documents, photos, or materials you would like to contribute to the archive, please contact us at displacedla@gmail.com.
Together, we preserve the truth.
Together, we remember.
